I've got the MIL light for emissions and thought I'd check the purge valve solenoid. The service manual calls it an EGR vacuum regulator solenoid..? It says to put power and ground to it and it should allow air to pass through, but not when there isn't power. I hooked a small hose to mine and blew air, and a small amount comes through (theres backpressure) if theres power/gnd or not. Is it susposed to click or anything? It has a slight spark when the power/gnd is taken off like it is drawing power. Makes no noises though.

Also, where is the purge valve sensor for this? On my 96 cobra one line goes to the EGR and the other goes off somewhere to the front of the engine area. Is it near the rear of the engine?
