I just bought BBK longtubes and they use a 2 bolt pattern to connect to the H/X-pipe. I have an X-pipe with a 3 bolt pattern. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to remedy this problem? I'd rather leave the 2 bolt connector on the longtubes since it's the thicker and better looking of the two.

hack saw.. spare tubing... welder
Here's my plan. Hacksaw the X-pipe out, take it up to a muffler shop and have them cut off the 3 bolt connector and weld on a 2 bolt connector. Bring the X-pipe back and bolt it up to the headers and get a couple U-clamps and clamp the X-pipe to the flowtubes going into the mufflers. I have new mufflers on the way already so the U-clamps will be temporary. Once I get the mufflers I'll take my Stang up to the exhaust shop and have them cut out the old mufflers and weld the mufflers to the X-pipe.

This will save me a hefty labor price on having them install the longtubes for me.
