I really need to make up my mind on this one. What kind of power differences am I looking at with porting the stock GT40's or buying a set of aluminum heads? I am going to get a dynotune this spring and want to have everything set so that I only have to do it once. I am also planning on using a 75mm TB, 90mm Lightning MAF and 42 lb. injectors.

Definitely get aluminum heads over porting your iron GT40's as they will let you run more timing and control detonation better. Also, IMO you might as well do it right while the engine is apart. A set of AFR 185's should work quite nicely but I believe you'll need to cut the pistons a little to accommodate the larger valves.

I would go aluminum. The bells make too much heat to keep iron heads. I have heard that people are "pegging " the electrics of the 90mm lightening mass air meter. My prefereance is still the Pro M 77-83mm.
