Anybody know off hand the wheel width of the 92-93 5-star pony wheels?

On my 1" lowered 93 5.0, I currently have 225/55/16 tires on these wheels. I am contemplating 245/45/16 or 235/50/16 tires and wonder if these will fit both the rims and the wheelwells without rubbing.

Thanks,

pony rims are 16x7.5

you won't rub with 245/45 in the back, but maybe some in the front, not sure......

16"x7" with 225/55 R16 Factory Size
I'd go with the 235/50 R16. It is closer to the original size, so the speedo shouldn't be off much(if at all). I run 225/50 R16's.

i run 245s all the way around and my front ones rub when i turn the wheel left or right to much and it makes it worse when more people are in the car. that was stock suspension, i just lowered my car 2 inches so i might have to get smaller tires :)

Can't believe noone has recommended......

......the obvious (and IMO, the best ) tire size for the Pony wheel - 245/50/16. I run 245/50/16s on my 'C'-springed '92GT. The only time I have a rubbing problem is at the top of the fender on the drivers-side either when turning into an awkward driveway, or when hitting a big dip at speed. I have no rubbing that I can tell from a lock-to-lock turn. Go with the 245/50s - Besides, they're all but identical to the stock size with regard to tire circumference. ;)

Im running 245/45's all around and I have no problems with rubbing. Still stock suspension tho. I only have about an inch between the rear tire and the tailpipe (2-1/2" Dynomax), thats the only place its close.

I wouldnt run 45's...too short of a tire IMO. Id go with 50's, the extra inch in total height would help traction some.

I run 245/45s just fine. Lots of companies ell tires int that size and they are pretty close to stock height. Though my bridgestones were skinnier than my friends 225 firestones?
