Aside from reduced timing due to detonation, can you really lose a lot of hp (>25rwhp) from running an incorrect heat range spark plug? (all other things being equal: gas octane, C/R, heads, cam, tuning, etc...).

I'm trying to figure out why my combo appears to be on the low side from what I see on others from various boards. I figured it's either the heads (6037's), catted H-pipe, or valve float (.545 lift), considering everything else (parts & tuning parameters) is very similar to the average 331 combo. Maybe I should be running race gas and spinning it upto 6400?
