can anyone fabricate something similar for less?

Its a nice piece but a few things to keep in mind.

It hangs low.
You can't run a bigger rad with the stock fan.
It was a pita with the a/c

It has shorter tubing-less likely to surge
very well constructed
no cutting or hacking fits right in

i don't use my ac much, the car stalls anyway when i turn on the ac.

using the stock radiator

assuming this will block a large amount of the radiator making the car run hot.

i have noticed that it does hang low.

what other options are there.

Go with a Spearco Water/air. You can plumb it yourself and it isn't as expensive as the vendor units. With the Water/air it will not block the radiator and there are no low hanging parts. You can also put ice water in it at the track for some extra power. I did a custom Spearco on my 91 Vette and its not that hard or expensive. They used to have a website with core sizes and everything but you may have to go to a distributor now. A lot of the kits out there use Spearco cores.

Oh.

Wellll, it's priced competetively with the other two coolers mentioned (Paxton and FastTrack).

If you are seriously interested in the ATI 3-core sheetmetal, I know someone selling one with the mod motor mounts for $500 less than retail. Let me know if you are interested and I'll give ya the link.

Steve,

Isn't that true with most A/A intercoolers?

John
Maybe to some extend but the Paxton tubing runs vertical and actually touches the fan. There is NO wiggle room, most other set ups I have seen allow more room

Andy: you should be able to, as it goes in front of the radiator and doesn't interfere with it at all.

99svt32: retail is around $1250. The guy I'm referring to is selling one for $775. That's dirt cheap. I paid $900 for mine (it's gone now or I'd sell it to ya).

Tubing can be either made or bought from ATI (they do sell it separately).
