I have a 2000 Mustang GT with the roots style supercharger. I've had no problems with it and it has just turned over 60,000 original miles. But just as I've moved to Los Angeles it started throwing P0171 and P0174 codes (too lean). I need to get this car registered in CA which requires the smog check. I've check the vacuum lines and replaced some injectors but that doesn't seem to have solved the problem. Could it be MAF or maybe the shorty headers are letting in a bit of O2? Can someone recommend a speed shop/mechanic in Southern CA for this problem? I need to get it fixed in order the register the car and then to sell it. Thanks for your help.

Any exhaust leaks? Most likely you need new o2 sensors though.

Probably wouldn't hurt to clean the MAF, especially if you have a rechargeable type of air filter(K&N). The oil can get on the mass air sensor. Seems to solve a lot of problems.

I would check the MAF and clean it, remember to not touch the sensor inside the MAF. They are extremely fragile.

The last time I had both those codes it was the MAF, so thats where I would start. Just pick up some MAF cleaner spray see if it goes away.
