Glad to hear it's all back together and running well!

Hey Thanks I appreciate it !

Well I thought I was done, lol, not ever I think :smile2:

I wanted to upgrade the fuel pump wiring, and searched and found the Aero 16307 fuel pump wiring kit, man that's sweet, and really easy to install,

1st pic - mounted the relay and the circuit breaker near the battery, on the driver side, like near the starter solenoid , put and end on the pos cable, and hooked both pos and neg right to the battery,

2nd pic - is the relay trigger wire, Aero says to hook it up to the stock fuel pump wire,

3rd pic - is the 10 ga. pos and neg that go all the way to the fuel pump, really nice workmanship on this kit, they have the wires in some type sleeve, and even shrink wrapped the ends so they wont move.

4th pic - when I put my new fuel tank in , I thought I'd get a new harness for it and the fuel sender , I didn't really notice when I put it in, but the wires are really small, so I dug out my old harness , cleaned it up, and hooked up about 6" of it to the Aero 10 ga wires, it worked perfectly.

5th pic - This is how she sets right now, lol, I decided I'm going to put all the insulation back in, and the rear seats also. I'm pretty good about saving stuff, so I think I have all the bits and pieces.

does anyone have a few pics of the back seat area in a hatch, I'm needing to figure out how much this junk I put in that I'm going to have to scrape back out, !!

anybody got pics :grin2:

I just came back from Florida Sunday and came through your little city. We thought Saturday, northbound, shouldn't be too bad. HA HA HA HA!

Yep on the weekends are worse most times, I'm about tired of running these roads at 5 am !!

well had a good previous weekends getting the insulation back in the car as we were adding the upgraded fuel pump wiring kit.

I'll add some pics of it, we put all the factory insulation back under the carpets, put back seats in, and extra layers in the rear of the hatch, I put a black rear carpet under my factory red one.
and another layer of armour flex I got from work, cut to fit , it covered most the bottom.

I can say one thing with 4 layers of quick roof, and all the insulation it is very quiet in the car. I was really surprised . I'll get a video one day on it.

most the engine noise is coming thru the fire wall, so I'd like to figure out how to insulate that better.

had to wash her Butt :nerd: a little before we put the new tail lights in and new 3rd brake light.

even glued the insulation back on the rear quarter panels, interior, what ever you call them lol

and installed new seat belts in the front , the rears are in great shape, Can't believe I had all the parts for the rear seats and belts, about 3.5 years ago I pulled all that out.

Thanks for the Like Len

sorry for the crappy pic it's the only one I have of the exhaust like this.

the passanger side is really low, the way the inlet/outlet is with the hanger at the back puts the pass side too far under the MM sub frame connectors.

so I decided to cut off that hanger on the back of both the mufflers and turn the muffler around, so far I have the driver side re-done and it looks great even more ground clearance than in the picture.

my question is I have to weld a hanger in the back for the pass side and weld the stock hanger from the tranny cross member to the pass side exh pipe too.

if I just disconnect the negative cable on the battery would that Hurt the Pro-M computer , it's under the pass seat and would rather not have to take the seat out to unplug the harness's

what do ya think will it be ok to tack weld a couple spots like this ?

thanks guys

I talked with Chris and he said it would Prob be alright to weld like that BUT he said new computers about 1300 bucks so I pulled the seat and unhooked it ?

Got the exhaust done again ready to try it again !!

Haven't updated in a while so here goes:smile2:

back in the summer I bought a built rear end from here, Thanks TomR , it has a 03 cobra center section with 31 spline axles, and 3:73 gears, Tom told me it would hold my about 600 HP easy , lol, he's pushing 1200 I think.

I took the car and had the exhaust done right, I had it rigged in there, still with dumps.

drove it to work a few times in the summer and one really hot day on the way home I got stuck in a traffic jam, super hot outside for a few miles, then bam!! lol a big thunder shower, so I go about 5 miles to my exit and the car dies , I pull in Home Depots lot, and it won't start, I primed the fuel pump a few times and it finally cranked, only 5 miles to get home, and I figured when it died again, I'd just prime the pump a few times as I was rolling still.

that worked and I got it home, so then it sits for about 3 months, and today I put in a new fuel pump, and it still wont crank??

so tomorrow I'm goin to replace the fusible links by the starter solenoid and see if that does it, any thoughts on how I start diagnose it.

tonight it fired off a few times but just died right out, it just cranked and fired off and died. a bunch of times, but won't stay running.

Have you checked the ignition switch? My 86 would start but wouldn't stay running.. Turned out to be the switch in the steering column.
good call , it was partially the switch.

I replaced it last weekend along with new fuse links. it started right up , for about 7-8 minutes, and then died again.

today it wont start at all again. I looked all over for any damaged wires , couldn't find anything. even took the pass seat out to check out the main harness back to the computer. can't see any damage anywhere.

the laptop won't connect the module to the cars computer ?? I guess it could be the usb adapter as the car ran fine for the little bit it ran, after it warmed up a little..so I guess the computer is working ??
I don't know , until it warms up a bit ??
basically it will load the Pro-M screen but not the tune.

I'm thinking about calling Chris Richards and see what he says and maybe send the computer in it get checked out..

man this is getting old I'll tell ya. if it's not one thing it's another with this money pit..
I hope it doesn't need a new 1200-1300$$ computer

here's a small video, I cut down from the 8 min the actually ran to when it cut off

Here's an error code on the laptop when I'm opening the Pro-M file.

is it not loading the file correctly , is this why it won't connect to the cars computer .

I'm going to continue on here in My Build thread hope you guys from engine management still follow along.

it turned out the Maf adaptor on the flat oval end that has a circuit board in it had crack in the board , no damage to the conn , couldn't see it. Talked with Chris , sent it and the maf To Chris, and he replaced it free of charge. Great now it starts.

I had forgotten I updated my laptop to win 10 and the drivers were messed up and wouldn't work. got that fixed.

I got the car to start and run after the maf conn fix.
next in just a few miles one of the 02 sensors went bad, E8 error message.
I have 2 new ones to install next weekend.

next got some good advice to get a real fuel gauge, so I have a nice used Mac gauge on the way, 1lb graduation marks and a big dial.
and have a Schrader valve to 1/8" npt adaptor on the way from Summits to hook it up.

if all the parts get here this week I'm going to give it a shot getting the car running again this next weekend..

it's alive !!!!

well I worked on the car last Sunday and got it running. really good for a change. Real Happy to see it .
I've drove it ever night except one afternoon it was raining and put about 250 miles on it since Sunday last weekend.

I thought I had a bunch of stuff wrong on the Pro-M set up.
turns out it wasn't the setup stuff, sorta it was a bad fuel pressure Gauge, I had a small 1.5" gauge and had it set to show 40# with the vacuum disconnected like it's supposed to be checked.

I bought a nice 4" Mac used gauge and a 3/8 npt to Schrader valve adaptor ,
got it hooked up and it showed my fuel pressure was at 29# Not the 40# the little junk gauge showed.

I had burnt an 02 sensor so I replaced both them, new plugs, and SET the FUEL Press right and it started right up and no longer had that rich smell coming from the exhaust, That's great.

the rest of the Pro-m setup stuff must be really close, the timing, base idle, because the car idles and runs Really good, no stalling, overheating, or hard starting issues when it's warm.

the whole time that little fuel gauge was junk. when I took it off it was stuck on 10# , lol I beat it on a table and it still wouldn't move from 10# Haha !!

so now it runs so good, I'm going to get some video this weekend and have some fun, just plain old Driving the crap:smile2: out of it.

still have a lot to do, I hate the manual steering, and somethings not right with the suspension , I don't know if I got the wrong springs or what, but I just don't like it going over bumps.

burn out

Hi guys haven't been on in months , been working WAY to much this year !! finally got a short video one weekend.

and a couple months ago I down shifted Hard from 6 to 5th then to 4th it sounded good , but I think it stretched the clutch cable because the next day there was a noise coming from the clutch area , but I could still drive it.

I finally jacked up the car and tried to adjust the clutch, also tried pulling the peddle all the way up and down, but then it won't go in gear at all, trying to get it in 1st it acts like its trying to pull before it goes in gear.
so I just got a new Ford cable and MM alum quadrant and firewall adjuster kit , it will be here Monday and I hope it fixes it.

this thing needs aftermarket brakes ,lol.

lets see if I can get the video on here, you can also hear the noise coming from the clutch.

oh and that last try was in 3rd gear , that didn't work, lol, didn't have it tached up enough for that
