With those M/T valve covers, all its missing are the yellow Accel Super Stock plug wires!

What did you do with the Cartech intake?

S S BRP, Its out in the garage, somewhere...
That was an intake that was made special for one of my other cars, back in the early 90s. We canted the throttle body mount down a bit, to help with getting my Vortech discharge tube to clear under my strut tower brace. As I recall, when that car was still using that intake, it made 478rwhp, using a stock short block, small Dart Jr heads, and a Vortech A-Trim. To date things a bit, I replaced it with a GT-40 intake that came off a 9-second Outlaw car (keeping in mind that was the early 90s).

A few years back I bought the car in your picture, and I used that intake for a bit, as I was making use of a bunch of spare parts I had sitting around.

Im not gonna lie, most of my “engine pictures” are all Pro Stock 426 Hemi’s. I own 2 Ford but… I can’t ever have enough 1960’s and 1970’s Super Stock and Pro Stock engines in my camera roll. Its all chrome valve covers and yellow Accel Super Stock plug wires in there.

I have plenty of those too believe me, but… when I look an old Sox and Martin Pro Stock Hemi…

Its just marvelous in my opinion. Personally, I think the HiPo 289 is my favorite Ford engine.

What engine is this? Originally designed for "reverse flow" or is it using custom cam(s) ?

I think people would use exhaust headers for intake manifolds. Probably taking inspiration from the GT40 Tubular. I have a pic of one pretty similar
