With overdrive off, you are just limiting the transmission from shifting into 4th gear. It wont effect your acceleration whatsoever. However, the 4th gear OD band is supposedly a lot weaker than 3rd so you might want to lock it out just to be safe....what kind of shot are you running?
now I think it matters if you have gears but that's a different story.. but I can tell you on my car with the 4.10's as I spray my 150 shot I will go through the lights at 12.2 at 111 mph.. thats at 6300 rpms.. .pretty high seeing on my dyno sheet I start to really loose power around 5100 rpms.. One would almost think to shift into 4th and see what would happen
I did.. I went a 12.8 at 107.. pretty much once you do shift into overdrive it falls on its face.. my 60 ft and 1/8 mile were dead on for another 12.2 pass so I can really only blame it on that O/D
I believe that the gear ratio really is just made for an overdrive gear.. not for racing

In Short I have a suspected rear thrust bearing failure at only 1k miles in on a brand new engine, I had no issues with the same trans/TC on stock boosted motors, the only difference...
On my 2V what are the chances that I can drop the oil pan w/o messing with the Tubular-K or lifting the motor?
The pan is an unknown 8qt unit.
If it's doable I may drop the pan and install some larger bungs for turbo drains but I'm using stock springs and A-arms so I don't want to mess with...
I have 2002 Mustang GT I just purchased Someone took wiring harness at engine off so I replaced that and hope it is all correct. Problem when I try to start car I can not hear fuel pump and have no pressure I checked all fuses they are good.Changed fuel pump and checked it before installing it...
Hello I have an 2000 gt manual with a 4.6 windsor and spun a rod bearing and wanted to know if anyone has done a 5.4 dohc swap. I have a chance to get a 5.4 from a 2004 Lincoln navigator. Anyone know how to go about doing it or even if it can be done?8
