New SHM car is ready to rock, 1000 rwhp, most powerfull supercharged Modular car ever

The most measured power from a supercharged 4.6 mod motor ever. This was accomplished using an ATI F2M supercharger, SHM long block, and tuning by the master John Mihovetz. After I left John made a pull to 9200 rpms and maxed out the dyno.

With the mph and weight we were running last year with the NOVI 2000/stock intake, we estimated we were making 775 rwhp (an increase of 225 rwhp thru a powerglide no less) 5 pounds of boost less than we saw last year(30 versus 25). This blower could see another 7 psi if pushed hard. Tuneup wise its 3 degrees less timing than we ran last year despite the fact that we are now intercooled.

The best part about it is that its not even close to making its potential power. We have a 64 tooth on the crank and 42 tooth on the blower, right now we're spinning it around 64,500 rpms aand the blower is not even close to being done. SHM did an outstanding job with all the fabrication, and John's cog brackets are a perfect fit.

Usually I do not put tremendous amounts of faith in high powered automatic drag cars, but you can definetely tell the numbers are there between the difference of manners of this combo and last years.

SHM took a spearco intercooler core and custom fit fabricated the cans and all the intercooler plumbing. They also modified a fluidyne radiator and cut one row off the top so that it could all fit.

Other changes included a switch from the Speed Pro electronics to the Electromotive Tech III stand alone. We also switched to a Hogan sheetmetal intake, ATI race bypass, and Accufab 90 mm throttle body.

Heres about the 3rd pass at 925 rwhp, after that I left and let John play with it.

Needless to say I could not be more pleased with this supercharger and billet long block Hyland made me.

It's time for the shootout, and I got my dance card full.

Thanks guys. John said his hair stood up straight when he hit 9200 rpms. This blower is badass, for John to be impressed with it, thats saying something.

When will I track test? Hmm..............;)

You guys will just have to show up at the shootout and find out what it runs. :D
Yeah, but I bet its not an emissions legal, registerable, street car anymore.

Where are the hillbillies at?? :joy:

Jeff
Holly Hell  Watching the exhaust exiting the car with such velocity makes me wonder if you have a jet engine hidden in there! WOW, very very impressive.

I hope you get a lot of good runs with it. BTW - What kind of gas mileage do you expect to get? :D
Very nice Dave!!!

The clip was awesome too.

Later, Jason
Sweet! :)

vortech can't handle do that at all.

We were running ATI the last few years and have a FFW S/O Championship with it to prove how good they are. They are very reliable and hold up under a lot of abuse.

Joe Robinson and I ran his car on the same motor consistanly for 2 seasons.. We finally changed head gaskets late last season to check the pistons and get an overall look at the bottom end..

Best blower we have used ever.

There were never any Vortech's even anywhere near the times and MPH we were running.. The only thing faster was one bigblock nitrous car and 2 turbo cars..

They all had reliability issues as well.

Dave,

I hope you enjoy the blower as they are a very nice unit. Couldn't expect more from ATI..
