The most measured power from a supercharged 4.6 mod motor ever. This was accomplished using an ATI F2M supercharger, SHM long block, and tuning by the master John Mihovetz. After I left John made a pull to 9200 rpms and maxed out the dyno.

With the mph and weight we were running last year with the NOVI 2000/stock intake, we estimated we were making 775 rwhp (an increase of 225 rwhp thru a powerglide no less) 5 pounds of boost less than we saw last year(30 versus 25). This blower could see another 7 psi if pushed hard. Tuneup wise its 3 degrees less timing than we ran last year despite the fact that we are now intercooled.

The best part about it is that its not even close to making its potential power. We have a 64 tooth on the crank and 42 tooth on the blower, right now we're spinning it around 64,500 rpms aand the blower is not even close to being done. SHM did an outstanding job with all the fabrication, and John's cog brackets are a perfect fit.

Usually I do not put tremendous amounts of faith in high powered automatic drag cars, but you can definetely tell the numbers are there between the difference of manners of this combo and last years.

SHM took a spearco intercooler core and custom fit fabricated the cans and all the intercooler plumbing. They also modified a fluidyne radiator and cut one row off the top so that it could all fit.

Other changes included a switch from the Speed Pro electronics to the Electromotive Tech III stand alone. We also switched to a Hogan sheetmetal intake, ATI race bypass, and Accufab 90 mm throttle body.

Heres about the 3rd pass at 925 rwhp, after that I left and let John play with it.

Needless to say I could not be more pleased with this supercharger and billet long block Hyland made me.

It's time for the shootout, and I got my dance card full.

Thanks guys. John said his hair stood up straight when he hit 9200 rpms. This blower is badass, for John to be impressed with it, thats saying something.

When will I track test? Hmm..............;)

You guys will just have to show up at the shootout and find out what it runs. :D

Nice Numbers Dave

See all of that hot air me and Jimmy V were throwing around about Prochargers finally pays off...Maybe more will listen now about ATI

Jeff
Sheeet!!!! LOL!!!!What convinced me to switch were a few things. One I needed something more than the Novi 2000 could put out. Two, the committment I saw from ATI in their ability to do what ever it takes to dominate and make racers the best that can be.

/me sees no Vortechs in sight

Jeff
Vortech? Never heard of them. LOL. Hey seriously, Vortech laid a lot of important ground work in the 90's to get the ball rolling. ATI took the ball and ran with it. Vortech, Paxton, ATI, and Kenne Bell all make great street blower kits. Vortech and Paxton make great blowers that can run low 9's even for the mod cars. ATI, however, is the only one that has the research and development available to them to make power at this kind of level though.

Re: Re: New SHM car is ready to rock, 1000 rwhp, most powerfull supercharged Modular car ever

The above statement speaks loud volumes: an extra 225 rwHP produced with much greater efficiency. Hats off to you, Dave, along with all those that helped you out in putting together this motor. And thank you for all that you have done for Modular racing. You truly are a pioneer in this field.

(I remember the days when you first had the measly Kenne-Belle blower on your STOCK motor, LOL. )

Best of luck!
Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I've run just about every blower combo out there at one point or another. My air requirements just keep getting bigger and bigger. I should have realized when I had the KB blower on the car at 250 miles that it would turn into a life of its own.

Congradulations Dave! Glad things are going well for you. Good to see you back on ball.

Thanks Joe, we've worked really hard on this project and have been very methotical about it. I can't thank John and Sean enough. We've taken our time and paid attention to every small detail possible. It's very exciting when I see John as impressed as he has been. It takes a lot to do that.

However, I if I were you I don't think I'd be claiming the most supercharged 4.6 horsepower. There might me things that you don't know :D

Well thats all the better for the shootout. It will be great. I"m looking forward to seeing your car, and your new setup too. I hope the Air to water intercooler is the ticket for you.

I can't wait till the shootout...no smack talk, no BS, let's rock!

Look out, I'm back and stronger than ever. [/B]
I'm glad to hear your running great too. We're going to setup the suspension so the tires spin a little. Gotta prevent the 8.8 from twisting like a pretzel. No money for a 9" right now, but a back halved car is in the near future shortly after the shootout.

It's great to hear your back to normal, its good to see you active.

:D Good Luck to both of you guys...This is going to be an awesome shootout!
Thanks and no doubt. We have some killer matchups ready, and it appears that only a very very small amount of racers wont be there. Everyone appears ready to go, and no late minute fatilities. Check out some of the highlights.

*John Mihovetz debuting his new Cougar car with a ton of horsepower on tap. He'll be bringing 2 sets of tires.
*Randy Haywood versus Mihovetz for King of the Hill on a 10.5" tire
*Joe Stewart versus Dave King
*Tim Palmer, who low in ET can he go? How much does he have left in the bag?
*Killer Pro Mod class including Haywood, Stewart, King, Tim Palmer, Reggie Burnette, Wayne Yarnall and the Hillbilly's.
*Mark Van Meters Renegade car, can anyone match it? Will James Hensler be ready to take him on?
*Mike Tymensky versus Joe Hutchins. The Tymensky's are hurt, can they rebound in time? Joe has a new stroker motor ready to go.
*Jim Vacarro versus the Turbo 2V's. Jim Vaccaro verus Ryan Archer.
*Barry Shepard versus the World in 4VNA. How far in the 11's is it going to take to win this class?
*John Edwards, can anyone match his times in 2VNA?
*15 plus 4VPA cars that are capable of running low 10's. Is Ben Dorn the Favorite?
*Jake Lamotta, will he surprise everyone?

I'll be at Maple grove to promote, I hope I don't see any Mod Motor Mustangs there :D I don't want to see any cars break the week before the shootout.
