I was just checking if I could use 2 pinion shims to get the correct pinion depth, I don't have a single shim that is the correct thickness, but I have 2 shims that are perfect.

Thanks for the help in advance.

No sweat. Think about if you had to add to different thickness shims (ie: .015 + .020 = .035). Same same.

Yep - you can stack them.

lo pony,
I think you are the one who suggested removing axle bearings from the other side with a long bar and a large socket, thanks---it worked beautifully. I had rented a puller and slide hammer from autozone but this was not working. I did a search and found your suggestion and gave it a try.
