I am about to help my son replace a clutch in his 1989 4cyl Mustang. I have replaced several 5.0 clutches before but never a 4 cylinder. Are there any major differences I should be aware of? Any special tools I will need that I probably don't already have? Are there any special "tricks" that would make it easier? Are there any major mistakes to make certain to avoid? Do you have to drop any of the exhaust? Any and all advice is welcome!

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you'll have to remove part of the exhaust just to make life easier. Other than that it should pretty much be the same as the other one's you've done. Tranny is virtually the same externally. Last time I did one I removed the tranny from the bellhousing then pulled the bellhousing. I did it this way so that I could access the bellhousing bolts a little easier.
