I got my subframes welded on today (4 welding points on each side). What a difference!!! The car feels like a brand new, super smooth car. It is just so much better around corners. It's a cheap mod, and if you haven't already done it, DO IT!!!

I couldn't agree more. It makes a huge difference...especially on our convertibles. That was one of my first mods. I the got KB super subs. Enjoy.

It cost me $89 (I think) for the subs, and the guy welded them on for $30. $119 will buy you a nice set of aluminum pullies or subframes. To me, the subframes are a WAYYY more impressive mod than pullies.

I'd say that the subframes are the best "bang for the buck" mod I have done (unless you count removing the air silencer or that 25 pound weight).

where do u get them welded on? this is one of the first things i have read about this mod. i have a convert. and am on a budget love the most bang, not to mention noticeable differance, for the buck mod write more

I got them welded on at the U shaped connectors on the subframes. They are NOT going to fall off. He really welded them on tight.

the 25lb weight up front in the verts

I saw that weight when the front bumper was off and was told that it affects the drivability (shakes) with it removed. Have any of you who removed it noticed that or anything that would make you wish you left it on? Thanks

Take it off. The car rides exactly the same in my opinion, but it is 25 pounds lighter.

If it does something detrimental to your car, then just put it back on.

what type of shop do u take it to? where do u get the parts, are there different types or quality, brands better than others i mean? would really like to learn more!

I go to HP Performance, which is the best performance shop in all of Jacksonville. They specialize in nitrous/turbo/supercharger installations, and there's always MANY mustangs there getting worked on.

But you don't need to take it to that kind of place. Just take it to anyone who can weld and have them tig weld it on.

Gripp subframes are made by BBK. I bought them at Summit. There are better subframes out there. Mine were cheap and I am happy with them.

If you have a vert, get the full length sub frame from Maximum Motor sports. The regular subs are good and a great addition, but the longer subs with guessets make it that much better.

I got the Maximum Motorsport ones (not the full length) and am very happy with them. I welded them myself and then undercoated them as I had already done to the rest of the underbody. If you only do a few mods to a convert, this has got to be one of them
