I want to replace my motor mounts (the engine is dancing at idle). When I did my coupe, I just jacked the engine as high as I could via a 2x4 and the oil pan.

Well, the convertible X-Brace is in the way now. Can it be removed? I noticed there is some plastic moulding in the way of getting to some of the bolts. Or, do you all just use the Crank balancer to lift the engine?

you can remove the K member brace from underneath. Simply unbolt all the bolts.. If you cant pry the plastic away, then unscrew all the screws holding the innder fender cover on and remove it. I dont think you will have to remove the intire inner fender cover though, possibly just the rear portion, to allow access to the brace bolts.

You can simply jack the motor up by the pan with a 2x4, or even jack it up by the balancer with a 2x4. ive done it both ways.
