I was thinking about switching over to manual steering. Before I go out and buy the flaming river setup, I was just woundering if I could save some money and just buy a new rack and pinion setup from a 88 gt and put it on my 95 mustang, and buy the steering shaft seperately? Anybody know if it has been done before? Thanks.

The '88 GT is still power steering, and is almost identical to the SN95's power steering rack. The main difference is that the SN95 has that funky not quite round connector at the union of the rack and steering shaft and the '88 has a splined 'nub' at the same location.

It'd probably bolt up, but it won't help your cause for a manual rack.
