MAF with mods? Please help!

I'm lookign to buy a MAF 5.0, because I have read that they actually learn, or adjust fuel/spark and everything, as you do basic bolt-ons to your car. Is this true, and to what extent? Also, will the computer also "learn" if I plan on supercharging it?
