I’m not an expert, but it's my understanding that the lobe profile of the cam is the big limiter in the revs the stock lifter will handle. Check out Anderson Ford in Illinois. They have custom ground cam & spring combo’s that will twist 7600-RPM with the stock lifter, 8200-RPM with titanium retainers and keepers. I think that would sound pretty sweet on the street.
