I didn`t have any CEL but wanted to check the codes while getting car ready for storage. I did the koeo test and only code seemed to be 116 the engine coolant sensor. Will this code be active on cold engine or is the sensor actually faulty?
It'll only throw the code if the sensor circuit is producing a value that the computer believes is out of range for the conditions. It's likely not just throwing it because it's cold.
