Yeah, the rocker switch would never be able to handle the load placed on it if you ran all that power through it. You NEED to use a relay to handle the main load and the rocker switch as the signal to turn the fan on or off.
I wired my fan with the 10gauge wire running off the solenoind into the relay and then into the fan. The i tapped into the power wire for the coolant level sensor and ran the ground wire into the pass compartment to a switch under the radio. Open the ground and fan shuts off...complete the ground and the fan goes on
