How far do you guys stock tach differ from your monster?

I have a monster tach hooked up to my msd 6btm and I usually have still been shifting off of my stock tach at 6k but the car pulls real hard to then.. and now that I am more comfortable with my car and can look over at my monster tach.. when my stock tach reads 6500 the monster reads 5500.. is this right? could my stock unit really be this far off or is my monster off as well? I have a blown 347 so the RPMs come on real fast on the upper end with my downs upper intake... so sometimes its hard to look at them but its atleast 1000 rpm off on the upper end???

It probably is off by that much. I have the autometer monster tach and they both idle at the same rpm, but the factory goes higher than the autometer. There was a post a couple of weeks ago about this. Some people were hitting the rev limiter according to the factory tach and the monster tach was still below it.

Mine is off like that also. 1000RPM in the high side of the tach. I keep having to explain that to people when they ask why i have a tach in my AOD. I used to manual shift the tranny about 600-700RPM too soon. Gained .1 when i figured that out.
