Ok, I have a 92' LX and I wanted to get a set of AFR 165s, street heat intke and a custom cam but I was just wondering if it was ok to do it on a 98k mile 302? The motor runs strong but should I rebuild it first or just go and buy a long block from Central coast mustangs for 3,500? Let me know what you think please! Could I just rebuild it later on afterwards?

Do a compression check, are the cyls. within range of each other? Hows the engine been maintained/ driven?

If the engine has been looked after and cyls. show good compression then you should be ok. There are a lot of high milage 5.0's out there that have the same mods as yours. I wouldnt be afraid to mod a car with that many miles.

Yes i would be better to start with a fresh engine, but its not a no no to mod a older engine that is in good shape.

Take care, Joe.
