I am a new corral member, so I looked at all the postings for the S-197, 2011 vehicle, but saw nothing about my issue.
What can be done about those irritating front headrests? They cant so far forward that I have to recline my seat too far back to keep the headrest from brushing the back of my head. Very annoying!
The dealer said they cannot be adjusted or removed and "that's just the way it is."
Anyone out there have a safe (not removal) solution?

They could be removed on the 2010's so unless they changed the design for 2011 then the dealer is wrong.

My wife had issues with hers as well on her 2010 so we took the off and turned them around so they canted backwards...

if the headrests are pointed forward, your seat isn't leaned back in the proper position. the headrests should be straight up and down. they are a gov't mandated anti-whiplash feature since 2007.

so scoot the seat forward to compensate?

the point is, you shouldn't be sitting with the seatback straight up and down in the car.

i'm 6ft and have plenty of legroom in my seating position, while at the same time having the headrest in a non-intrusive spot. it's not rocket science, it's also not the 70s anymore where the seat has to be like a dining room chair.

I also shouldnt have to lay the seat back at a 45° angle just to position a headrest

yep, those are something else!!... at least mine rotate back if they bug me. I've yet to sit in the new mustang. I wonder how hard of a time I would have getting comfortable. I keep mine where they are and rest the back of my head on it at red lights. For safety I should probably have my headrest higher and rotated back some.

Yea there is no laying your head back at lights. When my head is completely straight up its against the headrest. Laying the seat back more to adjust the angle of the headrest is uncomfortable and puts my arms to far away from the steering wheel.
