I have the opportunity to buy a bare '70 Boss 302 block :joy: that supposedly has never been touched. Unfortunately I haven't seen it yet. What do I need to look for when I do see it? Certain areas of the block, etc.. Is the bore and main journal diameters and the deck height the same on these blocks as the 5.0 liter blocks (87-93) ?
Also, how much does it cost to have a block sonic'd?

Thanks

A rare find indeed aside from the counter-weight, the major difference is the heads and intake. The heads are the Cleaveland design, so make sure the intake comes with it. Even if the bottom end is trashed, the heads and intake make it worth it, although usually I wouldn't buy an engine unless I hear it run.
Do a search for cleavor engines, this should give you some more insight.

Good advice, but I'm only buying the bare block, no internals, heads, etc. :)

find a guy under the name clement, he has a boss block. There's a thread called 5.0 crankshaft, and I found him posting there.
