ok here is what i have.. 10:1 compression 408.. c3 heads and Jack intake... solid roller from comp in the neighborhood of 700ish lift... (bracket race motor) running a powerglide... 6500 ptc stall converter... 5.38 gears and 28 inch tall tires.. occasionally 29.5's now.

car runs solid 6.0's and high 5's on motor.. at 114 mph.. i wanna add about 20 mph to that and get it in the low low 5's

so lets party!!! i've added a 300 shot so far... do i need to go more???
looking at gear change... cant decide which one to get... 4.11? 3.89? 4.30? wasnt really planning to go into the motor at this time but hey.. who knows what we will do after we get the season started... my big tire no prep car is still the priority.. but want to have something to go to these small tire races with too..

I have a set of C3 heads and I am having a hard time finding someone to make me a set of headers, do you know any one that can make a set, im in the Memphis/Mississippi area.
I have a complete motor available in Connecticut. Dart Block 427W, Super Victor Heads, Danny Bee, Chi Intake ... blah blah blah

706 H/P @ 7100/545 lbs ft @ 6300

Runs 9s or 5.75 @ 121 in the 1/8th ... in a Fairmont

How does the car 60 foot? Any sensible way to take weight out or move it around? I’m sure you’ve probably already tackled that though.

hummmmmmm this could be interesting... some of the stuff wouldnt work with my setup... and i prefer yates / cleveland style heads... but what that is could do me a lotta good with a few mods to my setup.. my current motor runs around that high 5 mark/6.0 or 5.7's with a light driver in jxn TN.. but it's still stock block.... dart would put me miles ahead in what i could do in the future... hummmmmm

1.2 60ft times 1.3 on bad track... man the weight is probably 50 to 100 lbs max... consider i weigh 320 i could put a skinny kid in there and make the most difference... but what fun in that.. haha

this is my ol bracket car... motor and tranny are good.. but not super great to keep adding power too.. thats why i'm thinking just doing the 300 shot.. use the grid for some power management and see if i cant make it stick good and run it out the back door.. changing from 5.38 gears i have in it now to 4.11's or 3.89's should allow me to put a tight converter in... use the grid and nos controller to soften up the hit.. and just feed it some speed out the back door.. i dunno my thinking my be flawed... i havent run heads up small tires since 2005

i hate to say it but i make my own most of the time.... very expensive to do yourself... as a matter of fact since your in that area take it to mag's fab works... cheaper than you can do yourself and super good quality out of everything that leaves out their door.
I think you would do yourself a big favor working on getting that 60 foot down. There is a guy out here with a garage built but extremely well thought out super light weight early nova with a small block Chevy and a single kit which runs a 0.9xx 60 foot. You might need to drop a tenth or two.
Is that on smalls and no prep? Wow. Damn

That is a monster 60 ft.

I believe they were talking about Rich’s car greyhound. Apparently they were playing around with it on 28’s in the video. Not sure about no prep though I know with the group he hangs with he no doubt Street raced it a bunch back in the day. I don’t know that you’ll find any ET‘s on it. Secret squirrel stuff.
They say the Greymare is currently under 2,000 lbs. without driver and can cut a 1.1xx 60 ft So the Greyhound is likely absurdly light.
My big tire car is just now occasionally going .9xx on no prep... I can't imagine doing that on a 28x10.5
I think they were trying to get the car to run a 28 inch tire for an event or some thing. Not sure if the 60 foot is on that tire or a previous larger tire. It’s almost impossible for me to believe. But I know those guys don’t let out much information. What they do let out his under exaggerated or flat out the truth.

man this stuff is like rocket science nowdays......... not much would surprise me from a team that gets out there and test and uses data ...... thats the key. my problem is budget doesnt allow me to test as much as other teams... but we do make improvement every time out based on the data we collect.

...Tony's video on the stock block record is insane !...
With what GOOD SBF heads cost nowadays (to make 700+ N/A), it's about money ahead to go with a bigger platform from the get-go. Brother's making a little over 800 with a home build, thrown together with used parts, 545". On gas. It's got more in it with a fuel change but he runs it on pump fuel out of convenience.

my little 438 ran 6.05 pretty consistently on gas. Changed carb to a methanol carb and picked up .25. Another .07 going to injection. Might be worth a consideration?

Shouldnt the nitrous like the change in fuel as well Todd?
o_O Dumb question, is the Powerglide still the fastest automatic compared to all others? Is there any chance the 6R might be equal or better with it's better gears(it has a 4.17 1st gear)?
