A friend is building a mopar360 la engine. He got new lifters with the oil hole in the side and I tried to push the pushrod seat and we could not. This is a flat tappet. Is a ford any different as far as tappets go?

but you are referring to a flat tappett.

flat lifters have various mannors to feed oil to the plunger. ...some have extra hole to pass out lube to the cam lobe.

a common hydraulic roller lifter from FORD is pretty much only one basic design... no oil hole as you referr to....but oil does still hold the plunger / pushrod seat UP....

If they're old and filled with gunk they're tough to push in, too.
