Hello, new member here from seacoast NH. Always liked Mustangs, lots of friends with them over the years, never had one of my own.

Been wrenching all my life, done lots of other project vehicles, mostly off road type projects. My most recent being a ground-up build on a 1999 XJ. Lift, motor swap, chassis repair (rust).

I am considering my first Mustang, and I found an 86 GT convertible. It is a project, with some know needs (floor pan in the rear under the seat passenger side, some rust here and there from what I can tell from pictures). Runs and drives, and looks pretty straight from the pictures I have gotten (guy lives 2 1/2 hours away).

Anyway, I will post the questions in the correct forum, just thought I’d throw some details in here. Hope to learn about the do’s an donts, and what to look for when picking up a project rig.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome! Sounds like a good project. If you don't weld it can get expensive paying someone else to do the work for you.Roger
