Im thinking about bolting my 174 Holley roots blower on a stock low mileage 5.0. The motor is in good condition and I would like to use it while I finish building a 331. Do you think it will last long @ 9psi if I let the bottom end factory stock?
Thank you for replies...

9 psi on stock block will alst a while if tuned right. there arent any worries if its tuned safe. and as long as you have the other stuff (ie fuel, ignition) to go along with it youll be just fine.

take care,
adam

I think the roots blower puts less stress on bearings (and the crank) than centrifugal blowers? Seems some ppl had problems with centrifugal ones. I'd check to see if 9# roots spins at lower RPMs than 9# centrifugal.
