I was told that the stock exhaust manifold gasket was the best to use when installing the headers. So I ordered a pair from the dealer and picked them up last night. They don't look right though! The headers and the gasket that came with them have round ports; the gasket from Ford has square ports. Which one is correct? Here is a picture of both:

The Ford part is the one on the top, the Hooker gasket is on the bottom.

Looks to me like you got DOHC gaskets instead of SOHC gaskets. The exhaust port shape is different between the two.

That is what I think happened. I thought I was so abundantly clear about my car being a GT with the SOHC engine, I guess not.

Went back to the dealer and sure enough they had given me the Cobra gaskets. The only thing that makes me mad is that the GT gaskets are no where near as nice/beefy as the Cobra gaskets but they cost more then twice as much!!! Do you believe that? Less quality but twice the cost.  I hate going to the dealer for anything! Anyway, I have the right gaskets now and will have the headers installed soon.
