Just got back from the Dyno Shop (that's actually their name). I made 2 pulls with the second being better, maybe because the engine was warmer than 1st run (kinda cold~ 180 degrees). Anyways, the only change made from last dyno session and today was the swap for my new Holley SysteMAX intake with only gasket matching done to lower port and TB opening made 75mm.

To start off, my best dyno pull made 395.8 rwhp / 379.3 rwtq. Before you become too dissappointed, the peak HP was made at 6,300 rpm and peak TQ at 5,000-5,100 rpm (same TQ #'s at both rpm). No tuning was done, nor air/ fuel readings because I don't care to have inaccurate #'s from a tailpipe sensor that may or may not be correct due to reversion and I have dumps for tailpipes. Regardless, my usable rpm moved up another 500 or so. The HP didn't really drop off untill 6,400 rpm. This is great! I did sacrifice some TQ, but I'll gain it back after it gets re-tuned by Danny Swanson. I have the feeling that it was pretty lean, due to the excessive air flow over the RPM intake and the motor heated up instantly from each run (over 240 degrees). I'll check my plugs in a bit, but won't know for sure untill I get it on Swanson's dyno with wide-band 02 sensor in X-pipe, near collector. This is much more accurate data. All I need is the 3" exhaust and a little tuning, this baby will be ready to run 10's for sure.

Oh, as for the TQ curve, it stayed above 350 ft/lbs from 3,600 to 6,200 rpm. And the dip seamed to diminish, but not completely. So, Big Daddy LTD LX, am I "over the top" now with my 395.8 rwhp/ 379.3rwtq? I am curious to see(hear) your thoughts on these results. This power curve 'shift' to the right 500 rpm will definitely help me go faster in 1320, now that I won't be out of motor at 1,000' mark.

I just searched up your initial dyno runs and (correct me if I'm wrong) the first time you netted 407 peak rwtq. This time you're down to 379? Is there something else that has changed since that first run?

Your RWHP stayed pretty much the same and your rpm band is closer to where you want it.

Can't wait to see what happens when you get some tuning done!

The holley is going to have a different VE curve than the RPM>

Of course its going to need to be tuned to get it right.

I"m guessing about 390-395rwtq once you get it tuned.

How did the HP curve climb from 5000 to 6000?

I guessed the new TQ peak balls on.

ALso the 1.7 intake rocker is going to gain you tq from about 3000 and up.

THe 3" exhaust trick should be worth something. Also consider bassani LT's with a 3" collector. The tubing is going to be more of an equal length.

Reversion at the tail pipe at WOT? Not likely. The AF thingy The Dyno Shop uses is a dynodynamics unit and about 4 times the money of most commercial units, and even more accurate. Have no fear.

Well.....I guess the RPM intake was my main limiting factor in making power above 5,800 rpm............Yes, you were dead on about the peak tq guess. Here's the HP #'s from 5,000-6,000:
