My 89 notch will not stop dying. three times now, it will simply cutoff in the middle of driving. Not whe ni'm getting on it, just when i'm cruising. It's done it everytime when i'm just cruisng in fifth gear. It wont start back up immediately either. Everytime i have to pop the hood and mess with stuff. I check the MAS everytime, all plug wires on fine, all vacuum wires seem to be on good... it starts up after about 5 minutesand runs fine until the next day. Any suggestions? Thanks

Possible TFI malfunction. Have you ever replaced the TFI module? They usually start going bad by shutting off the spark to the motor when hot. Then it cools off a bit and works fine. So, bring a small screwdriver with you next time. When it dies and won't start back up, pull a spark plug wire off and test for spark while cranking it. If there is not a CLEAR indication of spark, it is probably the TFI module that is crapping out.
