After going to tirerack.com, I found the stock tire size for four lug pony rims is 225/55/16. Would i have a problem mounting 225/50/16's? What is the difference between the two tire sizes? Thanks..

you will not have a problem mounting 225/50 but they're shorter. (speedo will be off) Why not buy 245/50-16? Same height as stock, wider tire, and should be about the same price or CHEAPER!

tirerack.com will not sell you the 225/50/16 tires for a fox mustang. I ordered some for christmas and they called my house and told me they couldn't sell them to me for liability reasons. something about the geometry of the suspension or something. Not kidding. See if they will send them but they wouldn't for me. I had to go with 225/55/16 on the front.

245/50's are a better solution than 225/55's and they WILL sell them to you and as stated above lots of times they're cheaper because they're far more common than the 225/55.

They WILL sell you the 245/50 and the 225/55 but they WILL NOT sell you the 225/50 tires a fox body mustang. Call them and talk to someone before you order so you don't get your hopes up.
