I have a buddy that has a Gen I Lightning and his wheels are peeling pretty bad. He doesn't know what to do as far as if he can get them repainted or what. Could they just be powder coated or do they have to be sent off somewhere to do something else? Thanks.

Just have him get them repainted. A guy from Mavromont (company that makes 17" ponies) posted something a while ago and said that certain processes need to be taken on certain wheels when being powder coated. He said if the proper heat cycling process was not followed for the certain type of metal on the wheel, then the wheel would get brittle and eventually crack. You might want to try doing a search for that post and get all the facts straightened out, because I'm sure I missed out on a few issues, but his point was that if the proper process wasn't taken, the wheel might eventually crack. Hope this helps. Later.
