i have a black 89 gt,ive been having a VERY hard time shifting my gears,,i have to use all of my might just to change gears ,and my clutch pedal is loose, its not nearlly as heavy as it used to be,does this mean i need a new clutch?
Sounds as though it is binding somewhere. Clutch problems usually occure with slipping. It may even be that the cable is too stretched and you cannot disengage the clutch properly. To test to see if it slipping, try to acclerate while staying in 5th gear. If the RPM's go up and not the speed, then there is slippage and it is time for a new clutch. Of course I used this as a good excuse to upgrade the clutch quadrant, cable and clutch.
