Modifying a main girdle...

I've read in the past where guys have experienced main cap walk, even when running a main cap girdle.. From what I've seen of girdles, they can be considered more of a support than anything else..

My question is.. Would it be possible to weld additional material to a girdle that would let it fully capture each main cap.. Totally preventing any movement, without everything moving..

Could something like that be done, and not interfere with the crank and rods.. Do you think there would be any thermo expansion issues.. This would be with a steel girdle, btw..

Any thoughts...

Getting a better block would be easier.

Your only going to hold so much force with so many bolts.

About the only way a girdle would add signifcant strength is if it were a "uni-cap" and somehow a block were drilled/modified to pull the girdle into a pan rail or something.

The stock block doesnt have material in the webbing to add any larger or more bolts.
