Is the only con to using the GT block the weight diffrence. I have the an extra Cobra crank to use with what ever block I buy but I just can't see paying the extra 600 dollars for the bare aluminum block to save a few pounds or are we talking about a lot of pounds?

yeah, I think that's possible if you go with the right company....I haven't done that much research on k-members and stuff, but I think that would be reasonable.....add the 60lbs from the block and another 60lbs from k-member/coilover setup.....and that's 120lbs.....that's pretty significant IMHO.........the little things add up in the end.....

You can get an 01 BARE aluminum block from Ford for around 1300 dollars. The gt block only cost 360 dollars. Houston Performance can get the 01 bare aluminum block and sell it to you for 995.
