F&*(*(&^ car will not start and replaced starter solenoid and checked all connections. Light, pump, etc. come on, but it is like starter is getting no juice. HEGO and other ground on bellhousing instead of the head. Does this matter?
As long as its grounded it should not matter if its at the trans or head. But the engine/trans needs to be grounded to the firewall.
I had that same problem after replacing a negative battery cable. The short 1 foot long braided cable ran from the head to the firewall.During a head swap on my former 85 LTD LX I left off this wire and the car was fine.A few weeks later I broke the negative terminal end and when I put the new cable on the car would not start.Turns out the old cable had chaffed its way through a factory clip and was grounding through there.:idunno: Found the strap still on the head, installed it and the car was fine.
