I picked up a Griffin 2 core off the net, the guy I bought it from told me it was for a 79-93 mustang. It has the 45 degree pipe on the bottom of the radiator and the outlets are a larger diameter than the stock hoses. I called Griffin and they told me it was one of their universal radiators so he could not recomend any other hose part numbers. Has anyone run in to this problem? Can you recomend the right part number hoses? Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Jeff

Yup, very common. I found I needed to chop 1" or so off my lower hose to keep it from kinking and then smear a light oil inside each hose end. It will slide on the larger outlets with a little wrangling.

Great rads and the stock hoses can be made to work pretty easily.

If the hoses are old you may want to consider new ones or if they are stiff warm them up with a hair dryer or heat gun to help it flex easier.

A 16" universal flexible radiator hose with 1.75" on both ends works perfectly. I got one from Advanced Auto Parts for about $10.
