No way in hell am I doing this myself. I have no time. But what is a good price to have it done? I've searched the forums and I saw something about 300 bucks. Is that the going rate? I have a 92 LX convertible. Any help is appreciated
Expect to pay around 4-5 shop hours to have it replaced. I did my evap and heater core myself to save the money. It's not that bad of a swap, just plan an afternoon. In the unlikey event that your car didn't have factory a/c installed, you can swap it through the glove box opening which is a LOT easier.
I have factory installed AC. And being that it's averaging about 30 degrees out here now doing this in my back yard doesn't sound too productive. I almost DIED when my windshield suddenly froze up during some freezing rain we had here last week. In a matter of 30 seconds I couldn't see anything. Never has happened to me before but I'm lucky I guessed right and got off the highway where there were no cars (or people) that I could hit. I'm fed up with this and just want to get it over with before I die!
