Ive been looking at autometer fuel level gauges and saw 2 different ones for stangs. One requires its own sending unit and the other says for 89 up mustangs. Will it work on an 88? I am going on a trip next week and would like to put a gauge in before then. Does anyone use these? Is there a difference in sending units? Thanks.

2 different ones first cal autometer about it or summit. i know there are mechanical gauges that use a hose connected to your fuel rail or regulator that use fuel pressure right up into the gauge to determine pressure (you cant use these at the track because you would have fuel in the pass compartment of the car if you mounted the gauge inside) then there is one that converts the fuel pressure from the hose to a electrical signal that goes to the gauge in the car which probably is the one with the sending unit.
