I just wanted to say thank you all for the heads up.

I am buying a girdle for the insurance. Its too late to get a better block as the engine is almost done. Its going in a factory five cobra chassis.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't to it if you've got your heart set on it. But it's not going to prevent the block from cracking if it decides to crack. That seems to be a crapshoot if it will or won't.

I'm still of the opinion that internally balancing the crank is the best thing you can do for a factory block, even if it's crazy expensive.
With that kind of budget i would be into a better block. Its a catch 22.
