Overall Im pretty happy, I made four passes, and this was my first time at the track ever. 60*, mid-kansas elevation, no front swaybar or air silencer, otherwise stock '89 GT vert with a T-5Z and 167,000 miles, on 225VR16's, attempting to shift ~5500 on stock tach.

1st run- 15.8 spinning bad off the line, friends said I had a badass reaction time, but my timeslip didnt print out at the tower.

2nd run- pulled spare-bogged off line-Girlfriend rode along ~110 lbs ;)

R/T-.788
60'-2.574
1/4-15.647 @ 90.949 mph

3rd run- no girlfriend, spun at mid-first gear

R/t-.878
60'-2.471
1/4-15.261 @ 92.198 mph

4th run- missed second BAD ran a 16.8

I know the car has 14's in it if I could launch it, and I haven't powershifted yet (sloppy stock shifter, so Im kind of hit and miss on that, new one coming soon).

My buddy ran a 14.9 in a stock 2.73 geared 89 5spd vert with 2455015 Euro T/As and 13 degree timing. Adding 3.73 gears got him a 14.5. He had alot of problems with wheel spin. Good luck.

hey man, those are some nice times for a stock GT vert. if you can get those 60' times down you'll be in the 14s no problem. were these runs up at international? maybe i'll see you out there sometime, i'll be in a black '90 coupe. 2.5" cowl hood with ponies. :)

Yeah they were at international, it was pretty packed as it was high school night. My friend ended up getting third in the High school class in his black '93 coupe. I should be down there quite a bit now, had a lot of fun :cool:

Those 60s need some work. Good thing is you had fun. Also try lowering your shift point, maybe 5000-5100. If your tach is accurate, 5500 is way too high to shift a stock motor.

yeah, I know I need to play with shift points/ launch, I was just a little over-excited, hopefully next time I can calm down and actually drive the bloody thing.
