I've got a set of MAC Longtubes and man is there alot of welding flash inside the header,, the 1415 gasket I'm using was bigger then the opening, so I took my Roto-zip and cleaned it out,, should be worth a few CFM ehh?

Hey:

That's absolutely worth doing, just be careful not to bust all the way through (been there, bought new headers). That's one of those 'little details' that makes one car with the same mods run faster than another.

Sadly the only headers I ever bought that had that taken care of from the factory was the one for my Honda.

I hear ya man.

Here's my BBK 1 5/8" unequal shorties. I did the same thing with a dremel.

My MAC unequal shorties looked so bad, I would not put them on. I sent them to Ed Curtis. He welded the flanges up and then ground them down. Then we had them ceramic coated. They looked beautiful. Very far from what I took out of the box.
