So many other variables at work here - it's hard to answer the question. How do you use the 5.0L? Is it air conditioned? Is it an automatic transmission? Do you see a lot of stop and go driving in a very warm/humid part of the country? Is the fan a pusher or a puller? Is the 5.0 stock or modified? If modded, how? The fan requirements for an auto, a/c Mustang 5.0L that commutes through the summer in Miami, Atlanta or Houston are way different than a weekend racer in Vancouver. A general rule of thumb is that you need to move 2000-3000 cfm of air across the radiator/condenser to keep a 5.0L cool in traffic. I wouldn't install a fan that I didn't know the cfm rating of. You'd be safer using one that came on a 5.0L of some sort - then you know it at least has the potential to cool the 5-oh. Additionally, if it's going on something that has the stock (fox body) 65A alternator, you're likely gonna need an alternator upgrade or you may have charging/weak battery issues.
Sorry I couldn't come up with a simple yes/no answer for you.
