the car used to run fine, and everything was ok. had to replace the fuel pump a few times, though. but now it's running awkward, and costs 10$ a day in gas... whats the deal?

symptoms:
runs fine while cold.
but once it warms up it kind of bogs down
while idling it loads up and you have to hold it wide open for a few seconds to clear it throat, then it's fine while driving

 new to all this motor stuff, could it be EFI or bad rings? it's gotten so bad my dads thinking about buying a new vehicle.. thanks.

check the fuel pressure, it could be the fuel pressure regulator, if the diaphram failed you'll get crazy fuel pressure. I ran into that today with a buddy's car.

doesn't matter, and the 10 pin connector is the 2 big plugs to the back of the intake, sometimes they can wiggle loose
