Thanks. I wasn't able to make it to the junkyard this weekend. But I think there is a f150 5.4l listed. I'll have to go check it out. That's good about to use multiple vehicles for the ECU

I don't have the money right now which is why I'm trying to go junkyard parts. There is no HP limit on the TermX. The limit will be your hardware/ignition.
I'd just keep what you have and call it good or go straight to TermX or Pro-M if you've got money burning a hole in your pocket.
I didn't see your reply till now. Motorcraft 2v cop coils with ls plug wires are what you should useThis past weekend I grabbed the engine harness from a 2002 F150 and an ECU from a 2004 Grand Marquis.
What are people using for coils for coil near plug setups? The Ford mod engines use coil on plug and LS coils can't be used with the Ford ECU. Something that can be mounted on the valve cover with a short extension would be ideal.

Dwain, have you used that combination? I got some 98-02 Camaro LS1 plug wires and the coil end doesn't fit over the spade terminal in the coil.I didn't see your reply till now. Motorcraft 2v cop coils with ls plug wires are what you should use
So the answer to the coils... OEM 2v coils have the correct connection for the ls plug wires but aftermarket don't from what i can tell. I ended up buying coils for a 7.3 Godzilla engine. I can 100% confirm they have the correct plug wire connection.Oh didn't realize same person. My bad. Yea not as easy as we once thought.

The coils work great when you wire them correctlyIt's officially a 302W 5.0L can run using a Crown Vic EEC-V with Godzilla coils! I still need to get it properly tuned but it is possible and it does work.
I have started a build thread here on Corral where I'll add details as well as on my YouTube channel.
Did you shop for any brackets to mount the coils? I also plan to buy the 7.3 coil and plug set, for my 347. I'd like to mount them with the valve cover bolts instead of welding on the VC's. I have some FMS covers that were used on a crate engine so they have old style holes, I'll have to weld on them to fill one hole and add a filler tube to one side. The coils work great when you wire them correctly![]()
There is a bracket set to mount them. I came across them a week ago or so. I ended up mounting them directly to the valve covers. My uncle machined me some standoffs to mount them to the valve covers. I'm not sure what Rinner used. Below is a picture of what I did.Did you shop for any brackets to mount the coils? I wonder if there is a bracket made for those coils, and can mount to the side of the VC's?
I designed and built my own brackets that bolt using standoff from the valve cover studs. With my setup I have to use lower valve covers such as the Trick Flow and an intake spacer since I have stock style upper. While I would have preferred to weld bolt pads on like Dwain, I couldn't bring myself to grind on brand new valve coversDid you shop for any brackets to mount the coils?
