I'm doing swapping out my old stock brakes for the Bullitt (94-98 Cobra) kit. The kit has some new dust shields. My car is mostly a street car (been to strip twice in four years and has not been autocrossed).
Do I need these dust shields? What will happen if I run with or without them?
It would be best to put them on. They will keep dirt, rain & crud off the rotor. They also have a vent to direct air to the rotors to help cool them. You can run with out them, I have on a brake swap on a 67 stang.
there isn't that much rain here.....i never take it on dirt roads....and it sleeps in the garage at night.
i talked to a several different people and they all said to leave them off for better cooling
