I'm looking for a new carb... I have always used holly....

Just wondering what you guys think of the demon carbs....

I am looking for a 750 or 850 mech.,double pumper...
holly 4150 h.p. series or a race demon

What are your thoughts on the demon lineup, have heard the holly is better out of the box, and the demon needs alot of work to get it tunned....

Thanks

true and false

if you have a street car, and you go to the strip occassionally
the demon will have to be rejetted and tuned.

however, if you have an engine that will drink fuel and love it mass quantitiesthan the demon is for you.

plus it looks 100 times better.

check into the speed demon

ok, whats your engine combo, and whats the car going to do.

race demon is good, I loved it, but it was too much carb for my engine.

the demon is a great choice for you.
the race demon has no vacuum lead, the speed demon does.
your combo sounds good, are you running 1 3/4 headers?

That is my last hang up...
Cant find 1 3/4 headers for this car anywhere....

JBA can make a set for 1300.00, a bit $$$$$$....

was looking into making the 6208 351w swap headers work but have been told they will hit the oil pan or block......

Thinking of going w/ super comps 6211 and grinding openings to match the ports....., I have talked to someone who did this and they ran them on a 306 w/spray running 10.50's.....

Very frustrated with the headers availible for this car.....

As far for the carburator the race demon looks like a nice piece, like I said I have no first hand experiances with the demon....
I think I want the screw in air bleeds, think they only come on the race demon, correct me if i'm wrong....

you have a 347 right?
a 302 based block, why are you having so much trouble with headers?
is it because of the vic jr heads?

I will make a phone call and find some info out, but I am sure you have more options than that, hell you could get a custom bent set for cheaper than $1300, and still get em jet hotted.

the victor jr. heads use the standard sbf header.... I can get 1 5/8 for this car all day long....
I want 1 3/4" for a 65 mustang w/ a 302 style block, no one makes them.....
the exh. port on the head is raised like a 1\4 inch or something but not enough to run the 6208 Windsor swap headers ( or at least that is what I am told)....
This is actually the last two things I need for the car

1. Carburator

2. Headers

Thanks
