I've never talked to anyone who has mentioned this, but looking at my 98 2V...Is it possible that the bracket that bolts between the intake and alternator is the culprit? Just a theory, but could vibration from the alternator be causing this? I dunno, I could be wrong. What do you guys think?

I thought the 98s were no longer prone to just randomly cracking? That would pretty much kill your theory :D

Not to start an argument, but there are 98's that have cracked and have yet to crack.
